Southern States Mobile Solutions

Southern States designs, manufactures and retrofits mobile substations for a wide range of utility applications. Designed to meet customer specifications, and DOT standards and in compliance with the latest published standards of ANSI, IEEE, NEMA, NESC, and ASTM, these interim restoration sources serve as a backup during both planned and unplanned outages, reducing maintenance costs and maximizing utilization and return on investment. Available up to 230kV and 65 MVA, our self-contained trailer-mounted units can be supplied with any preferred manufacturer’s transformer, circuit breakers, disconnect switches, protection schemes, or other switchgear. If desired, Southern States can also leverage its extensive product breadth and industry partnerships to offer a more value-engineered solution.

Southern States Renewable Intertie

The Southern States TranSwitcher® is a renewable intertie solution designed specifically for switching and protection of power transformers. Its unique design makes it ideally suited for distribution systems that intertie with solar farms as well as other distributed energy resources. The use of a “soft close” helps to minimize system voltage drops and potential ferro-resonance issues caused by the high inrush currents associated with DER transformer energization. Employing the TranSwitcher® can help utilities increase the life of their transformer as well as maintain system power quality.

CI Agent Secondary Solution Tool

There’s no such thing as a “one size fits all” solution when it comes to secondary containment solutions for oil-filled electrical equipment. Whether retrofitting existing containment, designing ideal protection for a new substation, or ensuring SPCC compliance, each site is unique and requires a customized solution based on a number of variables. These variables include subsoil type, site topography, space or depth constraints, aesthetics, and many more. With variables differing from site to site, the design of the containment system will also change.

To assist in sorting through the factors that impact secondary containment design, we have created an interactive, easy to use, Secondary Containment Solutions Tool to serve as a guide for identifying the best solution for your site-specific situation. This dynamic application can be utilized for two different applications:

New Containment – For new construction sites or those that do not currently have containment

Existing Containment – For sites that do currently have containment but are interested in retrofitting or different containment options

Use of the Secondary Containment Solutions Tool is extremely straight-forward. To begin, simply click on the type of solution you are seeking, New Containment or Existing Containment. A page will open displaying some of the available containment options offered by C.I.Agent Solutions. To narrow it down, click on the variables applicable to your situation at the top of the screen, and the tool will filter accordingly.

Click on a specific solution to access additional information, benefits, features and photos, or to contact us directly.
